The o the Libyan Speaker, aimed to liberate Tripoli from the clutches of terrorism, not to take power.
Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aguila Saleh said on Sunday the Libyan National Army (LNA) aims to liberate Tripoli from militias terrorist groups, not to reach power as the Muslim Brotherhood circulates.
Saleh noted in statements to Libya Al Hadath news channel that the legislative authorities in Libya, represented in LNA, the parliament, and government, are not proponents of aggression.
He held the terrorist groups and militias responsible for spreading chaos in the Arab country.
Civil war broke out in Libya after the toppling of long-time ruler Muammer Gaddafi in 2011, who was later killed. Numerous militias are fighting for power and influence in the country, with Tripoli-allied militias backed by Turkey, Qatar and Italy. Meanwhile, eastern-based military commander Khalifa Haftarâs Libyan National Army is backed by the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, France and Russia.
Ankara continues to escalate its involvement in the Libyan conflict by supporting the Government of National Accord (GNA), despite Turkey participating and agreeing to the results of the Berlin conference held last January where foreign states active in Libya agreed to uphold the UN arms embargo.
